I offer one to one counselling and psychotherapy to teenagers, young people aged 16 plus and adults. I provide a safe, empathic and non-judgemental space in which to explore what matters to you. I believe that everybody has the ability to change and by working through any issues you bring I can support you through this transition and help you achieve your goals. I think that a lot is achieved by working in a relational way, whereby the relationship between the therapist and the client is an important part of the process.
My work experience includes voluntary work with young people aged 16 plus and also working with adults in both long and short term therapy.
I'm a Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and a Registered Member of UKATA (UK Association for Transactional Analysis) and EATA (European Association of Transactional Analysis) and I follow their ethical codes and practices.
I'm fully insured and I receive regular supervision.
I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis in Psychotherapy and I've also carried out further training in Sandplay, Working with Dreams, Self-Harm and Depression. I offer both long and short term work and my experience includes working with the following:
· Panic Attacks
· Anger Management
· Relationship and Family Issues
· Obsessive Compulsive Behaviours
· Low self esteem
· Managing exam stress and expectations from teachers, friends or family
The above list includes just some examples of areas I work with. Please feel free to contact me regarding any issue and we can discuss whether I'm the right therapist for you. If not, I'll be able to recommend other local counsellors or therapists who may be better suited to your needs.
